vineyards/wineries, dramatic scenery including Cape Kidnappers (home to the worlds largest
gannet colony, and one of the top 50 golf courses in the world) and Te Mata Peak, with it's
stunning 360 panoramic views, bike and walking trails.
The Anchorage Motor Lodge situated on West Quay is close to such wonderful eateries as Cafe De Laos, Fox On The Quay, Shed 2, Provedore, The Thirsty Whale, Gintrap, Speights Alehouse, The Factory, Master of India and 3-Doors-Up to name but a few.
Ahuriri is a great spot for shopping with it's art galleries, boutique stores and for antique hunters,
it's home to the" "Whale's Tale" - something of a Napier landmark. It's filled to bursting with
antiques and curios and is a popular fossicking spot for collectors of artefacts in the city's famous art deco style.
For a more dramatic display of the architecture Napier is world-famous for, stroll through Ahuriri
to the National Tobacco Building and while you're there top up on Italian/Meditteranean specialty food supplies at the excellent Vetro store just across the road.
Ahuriri's West Quay is a wonderful harbourside setting for relaxing and socialising. It is also the perfect playground for active people with Fishing Charters, Boating Excursions, Indoor Rock
Climbing, Kayak Hire, Lagoon Walk, Fishing Club, Sailing Club and the newly improved Rotary Walkway stretching from Bayview right down to Havelock North - great for a bike ride, run or
walk.
